Fun-Filled Fall Weekend Getaways at the Jersey Shore
Now that the summer's over, a trip to the Jersey Shore might not be the first thing that comes to mind when considering the options for fall weekend getaways. You’re probably thinking there won’t be anything happening, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Fall is a great time to venture to Cape May, NJ for a long weekend.
Arts and Craft Festivals
Fall weekend getaways provide the perfect backdrop for arts and craft festivals. With the mild weather and the holidays ahead, it's the perfect time for shoppers and vendors alike. In October, Cape May offers two festivals. The Harvest Festival Crafts & Collectibles Show is held on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at Cape May Convention Hall. Sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, the Harvest Festival runs from 10 to 4 pm and features crafters and collectibles dealers from throughout the region.
NJ Audubon Cape May Fall Festival takes place in October, also at Convention Hall. In addition to arts and crafts, this festival includes activities for the kids, a silent auction and a sand sculpting demonstration on Saturday. The Raptor Project with Jonathan Wood and monarch butterfly tagging demonstrations will also take place during the festival.
If you miss out on either of these, there is also the Fall Arts and Crafts Festival on November 4th, 2017 and the Holiday Craft Fair on November 24, 2017, both also at Convention Hall.
All That Jazz
Jazz Festival Weekend is the perfect weekend for music lovers to gather in Cape May, especially those that favor jazz. The Exit Zero Jazz Festival features many talented musicians and vocalists performing throughout this long weekend at a variety of local venues. You can enjoy great music and tasty local brews during the Cape May Brewing Company Hops Pass Club Series.
